NaIntegration of epigenetic features to determine drivers of cell fate: the interplay between repression and activation
Mikael BodenUniversity of Queensland
There is growing recognition that epigenetics guide cell lineage decisions. Bioinformatics methods are able to associate information gained from on genome-wide assays that probe modifications to histones and DNA with gene expression to predict genes controlling cell decisions. In this talk I will discuss computational approaches my group has been developing together with collaborators to understand regulatory processes by leveraging such information. Specifically ; I will highlight the evolutionarily conserved role of epigenetic repression via H3K27me3 and how we are using it to provide clues on drivers in cardiac development and ; if time permits ; development of the central nervous system.
