A systems approach to study organ development and congenital disease

Joshua Ho
Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute

A systems biology approach is now being widely employed to systematically how molecular and signalling pathways are regulated in organ development in humans and relevant animal models through bioinformatics. The overarching premise is that the integration of high-quality causal gene regulatory networks (GRNs) ; genomics ; epigenomics ; transcriptomics and other genome-wide data will greatly accelerate the discovery of the genetic causes of congenital diseases that stem from dysregulation of GRN during organ development. In this talk I will discuss latest advances in GRN inference and analysis using large amount of experimentally determined perturbation data ; and how we can use GRN to study organ development and congenital diseases.;;;;
